When stalking people “for fun” can become a real danger and a real addiction.
Stalkingis the act of following someone or something very closely and watching its every move. If you're a very famous movie star, it's quite likely that someone is stalkingyou even as you read this sentence!
Sometimes, through social media, some famous people post some pictures of their body, their house, their lifestyle… For example, we can show some Instagram pictures of the famous Kylie Jenner:

Some people admire this type of woman. Body image is an issue for many young people, both male and female. Studies have shown that when women in their teens and early twenties view Instagram for only a short period of time, body image concerns are higher compared to non-users.
And that can also make some other people really jealous. And sometimes, it goes too far. They often write very mean comments, because they are becoming obsessed with others' lives. And of course, it is not only concerning famous people. It is called cyber harassment. It can concern anyone who posts pictures on social media. And this is a big risk. It is generally aimed at young people and may involve threats, embarrassment, or humiliation in an online setting. Bullying during childhood is a major risk factor for a number of issues including mental health, education and social relationships, with long-lasting effects often carried right through to adulthood.
Did you know that social media has been described as more addictive than cigarettes and alcohol? Numerous studies have shown that increased social media use has a significant association with poor sleep quality in young people. Using phones, laptops, and tablets at night before bed is also linked with poor quality sleep.
All these risks are really serious, that is why we shouldn’t abuse the use of social media.
